We will work with you to plan the project and will provide you with a detailed Statement of Work (SOW). Our Planning stage includes the following:

  • Site Inspection: We inspect your home for potential underlying issues.

  • Site Measurement: We take all the measurements to double-check everything!

  • General Project Design: We work with you to discusses your personal preferences and aesthetics to envision your dream house.

  • Budget and Timeline: We build a detailed project budget based on your choice of materials, desired finishing. We develop a project schedule based on the required tasks.

  • Permits: Getting legal approvals and permits on your behalf (it could be your or our responsibility based on the signed contract).

This document outlines all project stages, required materials, timeline, budget, and the responsibilities of each party involved. We encourage you to read the SOW carefully and ask for clarifications if needed before signing it. This document serves as our strict work plan.

Please note that any additions or changes to the project should be communicated promptly so they can be reflected in the SOW. Be aware that most changes to the SOW can affect the total price and timeline of the project. We are committed to maintaining transparent communication to ensure a smooth and satisfactory home remodeling or construction experience.

Construction

Construction is a critical phase of the project and consists of multiple steps, such as:

  • Excavation, utilities hook-up, foundation pouring (for a new construction project)

  • Demolish (for most of the renovation and full remodeling projects)

  • Framing and layout change

  • Rough carpentry and building additions

  • Windows and external doors upgrade

  • Installation/upgrade of electrical systems and plumbing

  • flooring and stairs installation

  • Kitchen/bathroom installation/upgrade

  • Final Carpentry (molding, custom millwork)

  • Wall Painting

  • Installation of final fixtures

Our Site Manager will be presented on site to manage working teams and oversee the project flow, on site safety, quality and the progress of the project. Site Manager is your key point of contact during the construction phase.

Post-Construction

  • Final Walkthrough: Once the construction or renovation work is complete, we (IK Home Improvement Inc.) and you (the customer) conduct a final walkthrough. This is to ensure that all work has been completed according to the agreed-upon plans and to your satisfaction. Any issues or discrepancies are noted during this walkthrough for adjustment.

  • Addressing Issues: If any issues are identified during the final walkthrough, we address these promptly.

  • Post-Construction Cleanup: After the construction or renovation work is complete, we clear the site of materials, waste, and debris, ensuring the area is safe for use.

Project Sign-off

Project Sign-off: The sign-off stage of a renovation project ensures that all outstanding issues have been resolved according to the project Statement of Work, and that full payment has been received. This stage involves confirming project completion through formal sign-offs. Once  the project is officially signed-off it's considered complete.

Warranty: A one-year warranty typically begins immediately after the completion of a renovation project. For new construction projects, a seven-year warranty is standard and also starts immediately after project completion. 

Project Review: Once your project is complete  you will receive a link to our customer satisfaction survey. We encourage you to provide your feedback so that we can improve our services. We take your feedback seriously and we do our best to make the required adjustments.
